These rules are essential to the guild - and if you feel you can´t respect the rules we really don't want you to join.
There is no point in joining and trying to change the rules or thinking that we will let you get away with breaking them.
It's a waste of your and our time.
Some people may find the rules harsh or strict - we feel they are common sense.
(note: most rules have been created after an incident in the guild made it clear we needed a rule about it)
1. Be friendly and nice
Being rude or insulting members in the guild or other players is not ok.
If you can´t act as an adult we really don't want you.
Giving help and constructive advices to members on how to play their class, how to spec, what gear to use and such things is one thing.
Whining and being plain rude and insulting is another thing - if you dont see the difference you need to get more mature before you join us.
2. Register in the forum
You need to register in the forum after you have joined us.
Use the name of your main character in the guild as your username.
3. Dont be inactive
If you are not online for 20 days we will consider you inactive and you will be kicked.
Officers that are offline for 15 days will get demoted to members.
Tell an officer if you are to be gone longer and we will not kick you.
4. How a villain acts in the game
4.1 - Don't make the guild look bad to other players. (This includes that we act with respect and behave well in all chat channels of the game)
4.2 - Don't act like a jerk towards other players, on the general chat or in groups you are in.
4.3 - Don't beg other players for money.
4.4 - Don't ninja anything - ever - in any group.
4.5 - Do not join groups for instances if you know you can't be there the whole run. We never ever leave a group in the middle of an instance or raid.
The guild management is not fond of perople that are in groups and leave just before the run shall start either.
4.6 - Do not leech honor in the battlegrounds (standing around doing nothing).
4.7 - If we feel we need to criticize another player, in guild or outside the guild, we do that in a respectful and helpful way.
If one member acts bad, the whole Guild suffers and we will not allow that.
5. Rules of engagement - In the Guild chat, party chat with members, Voice chat, trade channel and in whispers. More or less, these rules apply to every chat channel there are in the game.
5.1 - english is the language - since this is an english realm.
5.2 - use a non abusive and non sexual language. No Profanity is allowed.
Most people come to play and have fun, not to read crap being said. (fuck, ffs, wtf, cunt and using words like gay or retarded to describe something bad and all that is not allowed)
To clarify as there seems to be a lot of confusion about this rule:
Swearing is not against any rules. (shit, damn, bullshit, crap, darn, bugger) and words of that sort is not profanity.
Profanity is: fuck, cunt, whore, motherfucker and other sexually oriented words.
5.3 - be nice and polite at all times, making fun of people isn´t funny.
5.4 - don´t spam the chat with anything - big macros included.
5.5 - begging for money or asking if you can borrow money is not ok - just don't do it.
5.6 - asking if guildes can give you stuff is not nice - Ask if someone have the thing you need and if you can buy it.
5.7 - please don´t use CAPS - its sooo annoying.
5.8 - As other drugs than tobacco and alcohol are illegal in most countries we do not discuss them in the chat.
6. The addons
Make sure to read the info and the specific rules on any of the addons before you start using them, and get all mandatory addons if you want to raid.
7. Twinks
We dont want twinks in this guild. Alts are ok.
8. Raids
If you want to raid there are some things you need to do and follow:
8.1 - read the sticky posts in the raid forum
8.2 - install all the mandatory addons
8.3 - same rules on chat apply in raids and on ventrilo
8.4 - It seems like many people enjoy drinking alcohol while playing WoW
It is also a well know fact that reflexes and alot of other stuff get alot worse when drinking.
We don´t say anything about having a beer or two while raiding, but we do expect that everyone that raid stay sober, meaning you don't come to raids drunk or get drunk while raiding (same goes for all kind of mind altering drugs).
8.5 - Be on time. Saying you will be there and don´t show up is rude and arrogant to the people that are counting on you to be there. On a raid night we expect you to be online and at the starting point of the raid 10 minutes before the raid starts, if you are not we will start looking for a replacement.
8.6 - if you apply for a raid spot and get one but you can´t come, you need to find a replacement for that spot.
This person needs to be raid ready - meaning it can´t be someone with crap gear.
8.7 - If you get loot when we raid we expect you to enchant that gear with correct enchants and use the best quality gems.
8.8 - It is totally forbidden for anyone in the guild to go into a started raid and "finish" the jobb with a PUG. Raids started by the guild shall be finished by the guild, and Only raid leaders are allowed to organize this.
9 . Boosts and Selling stuff
Don´t ask about boosts in the Guild chat - most members don´t like boosting people.
And dont /w guild members and ask for boosts.
If you want to sell anything - there is a trade channel for that. Its /2
Asking "Does anyone have a <anything> that i can buy?" is totally ok.
10. Trial time
After 4 weeks in the guild you will be evaluated by the officers, and they will decide if you are welcome to stay in the guild or if you need to leave.
We are looking for friendly, respectful and mature people. We'd rather have a nice mature bad geared member then an immature well geared idiot.
11. Applications to other guilds
Everyone can ofc leave the guild anytime they want.
But if you make an application to another guild, you have to leave VBN first.
In another way - you have to first leave VBN and after that you are free to make applications to other guilds.
Why?
Well, if you apply to another guild it's clear you don't want to be in this guild.
If you don't want to be in this guild - it's is better you leave, isn't it?
We can only see one reason for you staying in our guild when you really don't want to be here - you want access to raids and epics... And that's plain rude towards the other members.
12. Act adult
We cannot stress this simple rule enough. If you can´t act as an adult human beeing you are better off in another guild. What does this mean then? Well we feel this includes but is not limited to:
Refraining from causing grief to other players, both within the guild and outside, either through harassment, verbal abuse, racism, slander, begging or any such other un-mature behaviour.
Members are expected to have good manners on the chat channels, including refraining from profanity, verbal abuse, racist comments, spamming and generally inappropriate chat behaviour (talking crap in the trade channel is included here).
Not repeatedly starting arguments and in other ways destroying the good/nice/relaxed feeling we have in the chat.
Argueing with the guild management over the rules is just plain stupid - if you accept the rules join us. If not, don't join us.
These are the guild rules.
To be honest - if you don't agree with these rules - don't join the guild.
If you are in the guild and don't agree - Leave.
There is no point in joining/staying and trying to change these rules - Its a waste of your time and energy.
It will not happen.
And do not try acting like an idiot saying "that's not against the guild rules". If you manage to be a jerk and actually don't break any of the specific rules you will be kicked from the guild based on rule nr 12.
